I will donate proceeds from at least the first 1,000 copies sold to these two worthy organizations. Here’s why…

With the recent school shooting at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis potentially being a deliberate act against Catholics, more than ever we need to support and defend our faith-based institutions. My kids go to this school. The staff and teachers at this school have all genuinely loved our children and you can’t get that kind of love and dedication anywhere else but in faith-based institutions. I support organizations from all faiths, not just Catholicism. But if I am to be blessed with people who want to buy my book, I can’t think of a better staff, a more direct way, a more impactful result and more deserving institution that Saint John Neumann Regional Academy and High School. I see their work in my kids everyday. Please visit their site and consider an additional donation if you have the means. To donate directly, please contact Principal Alisia McNamee at amcnamee@sjnra.org

There is a lot of confusion in the world. And, it disproportionately impacts our youth. The multitudes of inputs and influences they face is overwhelming. And while our youth are simply trying to master their studies, spend time with some friends and dream about the fantastical tomorrows, negative influences distract and derail them often to the point of despair. I have always considered the concept of hopelessness to be the single-worst possible human condition. Can you even imagine having such a bad day or culmination of events where you can’t just believe tomorrow will be better and then rob yourself of your very own tomorrow? I cannot. And I pray I never can. But for those who are desperate, think they have nowhere to turn, and are on the brink of giving away all their dreams and the hope of tomorrow, they need our help. And here, too, should I be so fortunate that anyone would want to buy my book, I cannot think of a nobler cause and a better organization that AFSP to help bring light into the lives of those who live in the dark.
